The Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Centre (DKASC) is a demonstration facility for commercialised solar technologies.
It was launched in 2008 with initial funding from the Australian Government and has since been expanded through industry participation to over 35 installations. The site was developed by CAT Projects and Desert Knowledge Australia as a resource for the rapidly expanding international solar industry.
The Solar Centre promotes understanding and confidence in solar technologies and provides long term system data that can be downloaded from the DKASC website. Visitors to the DKASC facility in Alice Springs can learn about the science of solar energy and observe the operation of the demonstrated technologies in native arid bushland.
